Oh, how I love a cup of tea in the morning. Right when I wake up, it’s one of the first things I get excited about. Yesterday, as I was walking down Westbourne Grove, I came across Flamant, a store filled with beautiful canisters and boxes from Mariage Frères among their other home furnishing items. Although I like loose leaf, the Mariage Frères tea pouches are my favorite. They are made from a fine cotton gauze and tied with a cotton string and label. There is something so refreshing about the hand tied little bags- so different than the mass manufactured ones you find in the States. And, I love the interior of the boxes- gold foil- a perfect contrast to the black exterior. As for my favorites, they are the following: Earl Gray French Blue, Jasmine Mandarin and Marco Polo. The best way to drink them is at one of their tea salons in Paris, but since I’m in London, my kitchen will have to do!
