Nécessaire Body Wash & Exfoliator

I’ve never been one to use body wash in lieu of soap until I discovered Nécessaire. Its pH of 5.5–6.5 sets it apart from others and supports the natural pH of our skin (and private parts). I also use their exfoliator, with the smallest of granules, that scrub delicately, not harshly as some others do. The simple and elegant packaging elevates my bathtub’s edge and the subtle scent (my favorite is Bergamot) helps me relax into my nighttime routine.

tata harper beautifying face oil

Tata Harper was my intro to non-toxic, effective beauty products. I discovered her products at my favorite store in New York, ABC. The sensory experience of Tata’s products is heavenly. Using no artificial fragrances, you’re smelling pure nature, and nothing is more refreshing than that. I use her face oils and cleansers. Non-toxic products and results. Quite a combo.

Aēsop Hand Soap

Aēsop products are made with the highest quality ingredients and best sensory experience. Their scents are truly natural, and you'll know it the minute they hit your nose. I’ve gifted Reverence Hand Wash more times than I can count, with its woody scent from Vetiver Root, Petitgrain and Bergamot Rind. I use it at the kitchen sink, as it contains a fine pumice, which washes away garlicky hands and is a simple luxury I enjoy throughout the day.

de Mamiel Cleansing Balm

I’m beginning to see a theme… all of the clean beauty products I’m featuring smell divine. Because nature smells divine! This Restorative Cleansing Balm blends Fragonia, Chamomile and Rose Geranium and is full of probiotics and Manuka that both keep breakouts at bay. Kukui, Calendula and Moringa oils leave skin feeling moisturized. A blemish-fighting, moisturizing and A+ sensory experience, all packed into one!

Branch Basics Cleaner

Simple, clean and effective. Branch Basics is just that. Varying quantities of water + Concentrate creates all of your household cleaners. It’s plant and natural based, fragrance-free and Made Safe Certified, therefore doesn’t wreak havoc on our systems, like many other chemical cleaners do. From wine stains to laundry to toilet cleaning, one product that works for everything. I also use their Oxygen Boost for stubborn stains and whitening.

RMS Beauty Luminizer

RMS’s living luminzer is my favorite "no-makeup" makeup. I use it on my cheekbones, my outer brown bone below my eyebrow and the inner corners of my eyes for the most subtle, au naturel glow. Made with Organic Coconut Oil, Vitamin E and Castor Seed Oil, it nourishes too. I’m also a big fan of their tinted un-powder and un-cover-up. RMS was one of the first companies to focus on organic and clean beauty, so it’s a delight to support them!

Magnesium BATH FLAKES

Magnesium relaxes. Unfortunately, most of us are deficient in this mineral. It relaxes our anxious minds, our muscles, and our bowels when we need to poop! It’s also a great sleep aid. I take a Magnesium Glycinate supplement nightly and soak in a bath with a cup of Magnesium Flakes + essential oils. I learned about Calm’s Magnesium Citrate Gummies via a Foodtrainers podcast, so when I travel, I eat a couple at night to keep me regular :)

Davids Toothpaste

When the US decided to strengthen the country’s teeth by adding fluoride to water and toothpaste, they failed to factor in the negative consequences. A build up of fluoride causes calcification, often in the pineal gland, which causes melatonin production to drop, effecting sleep. David's Toothpaste is whitening, anti-plaque and fluoride-free. And, the modern design is an added bonus on my bathroom counter.

Alibi Organic hand sanitizer spray

Finally, a hand sanitizer I like. Alibi is non-GMO, moisturizing and scented with essential oils. I like the Jasmine and Santal scent as well as the Unscented option. It’s a spray that absorbs quickly, leaving your hands smooth with no sticky residue. It comes in a frosted glass bottle with minimal black and white branding, which feels more sophisticated than the other multi-colored plastic options.

Everyone Body Lotion

I’m conscious not only of what I put in my body, but what I put on my body too. Everyone Lotion is EWG certified, which means it’s a healthy and safe product and free of hazardous chemicals. Unlike some of the non-toxic brands that cost a fortune, EO is affordable and comes in a large bulk size, so it lasts quite a while. I also like EO for its lightweight consistency that soaks in quickly with no sticky feeling after.

kaia naturals deoderant

For the longest time I was unable to find a clean deodorant that actually worked. I began making my own and although it worked like a charm, it melted easily. After testing others, I found Kaia to be the winner. English Lime Mint is my favorite. Their dry shampoo is also the best I’ve used. Instead of the regular aerosol can whose spray fills our lungs, Kaia’s formula is a non-scented powder that soaks up oil without leaving that fake perfume scent.

Wind River insect repellent

I discovered this insect repellent at Healthy Being Cafe and Juicery in Jackson Hole, WY. I went there (or Persephone) almost every morning before heading out for a hike and always left with some new natural product I discovered on their shelves. Conventional repellents are loaded with chemicals and toxins that seep into our bodies when we apply them on our skin. Wind River works well and smells lovely too.
