NATURAL LIVING: BEAUTY FROM THE INSIDE OUT – 4 WEEK SERIES
In this four part series, girls will learn about self-care through natural living & design. Each session addresses a different facet of health.
Week 1 : Nourishment
We start off in the kitchen the first week with a focus on what we put in our bodies. Which foods give us energy and strength, which ones nourish us? We make different snacks and learn about the benefits in their ingredients. When we feed our bodies well from the inside, our outside glows.
Week 2 : Inner beauty
Health isn’t just about what we put in our bodies, it’s also about what we put in our minds. How do we speak to ourselves with that voice in our heads? What do we read and listen to? Getting to know ourselves and being kind to ourselves is a great way to shine from the inside. In week 2, we create an illustrated journal to learn more about who we are and what makes us shine!
Week 3 : Self Care
In week 3 we return to the kitchen to make products to nourish our skin. Our skin is our largest organ, so we want to take good care of it with natural and organic ingredients. After concocting, we return to the design room to name and label our very own skin care creams and scrubs.
Week 4 : Movement
We all know how good it feels to move our bodies after sitting in school all day- we are meant to move! In the final session we head out for a hike. We return to the design studio for some treats, celebrating who we are, healthy living and natural beauty!
