Navitas Cacao Powder
I’m a big fan of Navitas Cacao Powder. It’s non-alkalized and never roasted at high temperatures, which helps it retain its antioxidants and minerals. Chocolate gets a bad rap because it's usually combined with loads of sugar, but Cacao (what chocolate is made of) is one of the foods highest in anti-oxidants. Cacao also has a bit of caffeine in it, which is why it's important not to eat too much chocolate (especially dark chocolate) at night. I like to make a Cacao-Coffee Latte with coconut milk + cacao powder + dandy blend. Great way to get a small dose of caffeine in the morning without the coffee jitters.
Petit pot
Started by a French pastry chef living in San Francisco, Petit Pot is a collection of delicious organic Pot de Crème desserts. Their traditional flavors are gluten-free and their plant-based flavors are gluten and dairy-free, using coconut milk in lieu of regular milk and cream. At 3.5 ounces (100g), they are the perfect size to satisfy your sweet tooth without the temptation of finishing a whole pint (I never do that). I love the logo too—so french with his little beret and marinière shirt!
NADA MOO DAIRY-FREE ICE CREAM
A plant-based, dairy-free ice cream made from organic coconut milk. Nada Moo checks all the boxes—organic, non-GMO, gluten-free, vegan, fair trade, and B corp certified. And delicious! Seeing that all of the flavors are gluten-free, I can even eat the flavors with cookie chunks like Birthday Cake Cookie Dough, Cookie Dough Fudge, Caramel Cold Brew and Cookies, and Cookies and Cream. Finally!
Honey Mama’s honey-Cacao Bars
My guilty pleasure. Honey Mama’s chocolate bars use only 5 ingredients - raw honey, cacao powder, coconut oil, Himalayan pink salt, and either sprouted almonds or shredded coconut. All non-GMO, organic, and delicious. They’re preservative-free, so you’ll find them in the refrigerated section of the grocery store. I love all of the flavors, but Nibs & Coffee and Oregon Peppermint are my favorites.
Perfect Bar
Perfect Bars are so delicious. With no preservatives, they must be stored in the fridge but you can throw them in your bag and they'll be fine all day. Made from organic, non-GMO ingredients and full of protein and superfoods, these bars are what I take on every flight. They also make delicious Peanut Butter Cups and a kid-sized bar too.
